Gavri Devi
Rajasthan’s Maand(Raga) Kokila Lt. Smt Gavri Devi belongs to Jodhpur(Rajasthan). Her father Banshi Lal Ji Pawar and mother Jamuna Devi Pawar both were singer in Bikaner royal family as a darbari gayak. She is known for singing bhajan, gazal and rajasthani traditional folk songs. Apart from giving stage shows in Rajasthan she gave performances in Orissa(Now Odisha), Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Kerala etc. When India organized the Indian Festival in Moscow (Russia) she gave her special performance there. She was awarded by Rajasthan Sangeet Natak Academy in the year 1975-76 for her significant contribution in Folk Art of Rajasthan.
